The Old Police Station The Old Police Station The Old Police Station The Old Police Station

The Old Police Station is a development offering a remarkable and exclusive collection of characterful apartments and houses created within this handsome Grade II listed building, boasting carefully retained period features, with all the benefits of 21st century living. In addition are a limited number of new townhouses designed to sit discretely alongside the old station, all built to an exacting specification.

All units in the development have the added benefit of secure parking within the landscaped, gated grounds. Secure, gated parking so close to the centre of Harrogate is a rare luxury.

As the name may suggest, the building was formerly the Harrogate Police Station. Situated in the centre of Harrogate, the 1927 grade II listed building was designed in 1927 by the West Riding County Architect, Percy Oates Platts. The recognisable, historical ‘Queen Anne Revival’ style building, was built for the Claro Division of Police, and the force occupied the premises in March 1930. With its particularly impressive facade, this building has an architectural formality and ‘gravitas’, befitting of its former purpose.

The station was occupied by Harrogate Police up until 2012, when the Police relocated to a brand new, state of the art headquarters further out of town, thus opening up this impressive building to a possible renovation project.

The development team are delighted to help secure the future of this fascinating building, proud that we have played a part in helping the development grow into the modern era.
